Debbie started her career in healthcare as a clinical laboratory technician in Southern California. She quickly moved into setting up satellite laboratories for hospitals contracting with her employer reference laboratory. In her successful career, she has managed a physician’s office practice and coordinated acute care hospital laboratory functions prior to entering middle management in the acute care hospital setting. Before retiring recently, Debbie served an Arizona healthcare corporation for over 26-years as the director of medical staff services, physician and allied health professionals credentialing, medical records and transcription services, patient admitting services, risk management, quality management, patient relations, performance improvement, utilization review, infection control, patient safety and continuing medical education for physicians. Her areas of special interest include managing difficult situations, disclosure, and physician advocacy. She especially supports a “just culture” approach, mutual respect and etiquette in the workplace.
